Hello my lovelies! Today I have a 'home' type post for you!
Recently me and Daryl decided that we no longer liked our bedroom the way it was and decided when the weather was nice we would re-decorate. Luckily we had a weekend where the weather held out and that meant we could get our paint brushes out!
We decided to go for a much brighter colour scheme than our red room. We went for magnolia and some sort of wall paper. We decided on the wall paper when we saw it, we had no idea what we wanted and just went to look at what was available! Once we found our 'feature' wall paper it was straight over to the lining paper. I don't know about you but there was no way I was going to try and paint over dark red with magnolia. So my mum suggested lining the wall with paper, then painting over it. Since lining paper is only £2.00 a roll for Wilkinson we thought it would be much cheaper than buying pots and pots of paint!
Below are pictures of before and after. I have only taken pictures of the 'Nursery area' and my vanity area because personally I think a couples bedroom should be kept private.
This is the 'Nursery Area' where my little man will eventually be. As you can see it was quite a dark colour and wasn't very 'young'.
This is the before of my vanity table area. As you can tell its next to the nursery area which I like because when I'm getting ready in the mornings I can put my little man in his crib and talk to him while getting on.
Here we have the feature wall paper. We went for a 'cool blue' theme and are accessorising with green and pink things to add some extra colour to the room.
Last but not least, this is how the nursery area is looking now. I think it looks so much better and brighter. We added a shelf above to we could add little bits and bobs to give it that nursery vibe. Also I replace the 'LOVE' canvas with a picture Keira has painted for me back when she was in nursery. I always loved that picture so much and couldn't wait to frame it and hang it.
That is all for this post! I hope you enjoyed reading it! Until next time my lovelies!
