Oops I Did It Again! Haul Time!

Ohh yes, I did it again. The January sales are just so good this year I couldn't pass some of these bargains up! I am trying to buy versatile pieces for my wardrobe so that my wardrobe isn't full of clutter that I hardly wear! I also ventured into some items that normally I wouldn't have thought of buying.

Firstly I found this velvet floral patterned skirt in Select Fashion. It was reduced down to £7.00 from £10.00. I normally wouldn't go for a skater skirt as I'm always worried about flashing my butt if it is a bit windy! I wouldn't normally go for velvet either as it's not the most stretchy material. However I decided that I really liked it and I was going to try something new. Plus if I think it's too short of flowy I can always pair it with 3/4 leggings in the  Spring/Summer.

Next from Select Fashion I found this awesome 'Rock and Roll' long vest top. Now this is a lot more my style. There is no chance of it riding up so far that you will be able to see my tummy. (I'm still pretty sensitive about my stretch marks). This vest was £3.00! I'm not sure how much it was before it was reduced but for £3 who cares right?!

Back to outside my comfort zone, how nice are these trousers! I never thought I would wear something like this but after reading lots of fashion blogs and seeing how people work these in is inspiring! So when I saw these beauties in Select Fashion for only £10 I thought 'why the heck not?' They will defiantly be a summer trouser, I can't see myself in these during the winter. Plus I got them in a size 12 in the hopes that my diet will have dropped me a dress size by then! (It's going well so far!)

Then of course I went into Boots and Superdrug to see what make up they had on offer. I came across the Loreal Micellar Water on offer in Boots for only £3.49. With my skin acting up because of all the baby hormones I defiantly decided to give it a try! Review coming soon!
In Superdrug I saw that Barry M nail Polish was still on offer 2 for £6.00. After seeing all the NOTDs using Lychee I knew I wanted it instantly. Then I picked up Green Berry as well.

So that is another January haul for you. I just can't resist a bargain.

Until next time my lovelies!

NOTD: Lychee

My first nail of the day post of the year :) woohoo. So I've gone for something neutral and shiney! It's the shade Lychee from Barry M!

I just love the colour of this polish, no matter what outfit you wear this polish will go with it nicely! It has a lovely shine and lasts quite a long time even when applied with no top coat. I give this nail polish a huge thumbs up!

Just a short one today!

Until next time my lovelies!

Products I've Used Up!

Firstly, I'd just like to apologise for my lack of posts! We've had a lot of DIY going on at our house this week so I've had to keep on top of keeping it safe and clean for the kiddies! Anyway on with the post!

I finally had a decent stash of empty products to do a post. I'm terrible for just throwing away empty bottles and then a few days later thinking, I really should have saved that for my blog! So I am working on that, ha.

Simple Cleansing Lotion- I bloody love this stuff. It's amazing to use before putting on your make up and after taking it all off. It just help keep your skin clear and gets rid of that make up the wipe just couldn't get off. Obviously I do suggest you wash your face every morning and night but if you've had a lazy day and not worn any make up you could totally get away with rubbing this on with a cotton wool pad and jumping into bed! Anything for an easy life!

Simple Facial Toner-  I think this toner works really well when paired with the Simple Cleansing Lotion. It really help calm down any red patches that you have. Use it over night and I find that it can work wonders on your skin. I will be replacing it if I I do not get alone with the new cleansing water that I'm using.

Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing Scrub- I liked the feel of this product. The beads are help make you feel like you're giving your skin a good old scrub. I did find however that the 'see results from one wash' was false. Although it helped my skin over it when it came to 'blackhead clearing' I didn't really feel like it was doing anything. I tend to go back to my good old nose strips which do the job a lot better.

Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo and Conditioner- I really liked the 'Bee Strong' range from Herbal Essences. It really saved my hair when it needed some extra love. After having Jay I tend to throw my hair up all the time so it won't be pulled or in the way, which can be quite damaging to have a hair band in all the time. It made my hair soft and shiny and I noticed a lot less fall out too. The only downside I found to this product is that I didn't really like the smell! I'm the type of person that like coconut or strawberry smelling shampoos and found that the 'honey' scent wasn't very strong and didn't appeal to me.

Alberto Balsam Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner- I always keep a spare set of shampoo and conditioner in the house incase I run out of my main shampoo and conditioner. From the last paragraph you can probably tell why I like this so much. It can't fix your hair from all the damage but it does clean it and makes your hair smell nice. I would use these as my main shampoo and conditioners but my hair needs that little bit of extra help that these shampoo and conditioners just can't give me. I always buy them as back ups though. It's nice to be able to use them once in a while and have your hair smell like coconut! Yummy!

I will start making another little stash of empty products so I can let you all know my opinions on them! Hopefully it won't be too long until my next 'empties' post!

Until next time my lovelies!

January Sales Haul 2014!

Hey hey!

Today I have my first haul of 2014! Wooo! January sales are my favourite time to go shopping for all those things you had your eye on before Christmas. I even managed to get a few things off of my January Wishlist! Yay!

On a little side note, I apologise for the bad pictures. I took them at 1 in the afternoon but there was still not enough natural light to get a good clear picture. Bring on Spring.

Maybelline Falsies Blackest Black Mascara. As you probably know from my January wish list I've been looking at this for a while. I found it in ASDA for only £5.00 so I finally decided to give it a go! I can't wait to try it out!

I decided to get a gel nail polish to try and review for my blog! It is from  ASDA and was only £3 so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I got it in the colour pink because it looked like a nice natural colour. Hopefully it won't chip as fast as normal nail Polish does.

I got these gorgeous casual heels from F&F at Tesco. I couldn't believe these were only £9.00 and so glad I decided to get them. I've been looking for a great pair of everyday heels/boots for a while now so I'm happy I decided to have a look!

While at Tesco I also spotted these cute little comfortable boots. They reminded me a little bit of Ugg Boots because they have the slouch look and are fluffy on the inside. So at a lovely £6.00 I whacked them right into my basket. It's nice to have comfortable feet with a bit of a different look. (Please excuse the fact they are dirty! I couldn't wait to wear them and they got a little messy!)

Ear muffs! I got these from ASDA for only £3.00. I thought since were due for snow sometime soon I would grab a pair to keep my little ears warm! I always seem to get ear ache when it's cold so hopefully these will help!

Again I apologise for the poor picture quality, silly winter daylight! I got this loose vest top from Tesco for £3.00! I've seen a lot of people wearing these and I think they make a casual look, look a lot more glam! So I had to pick it up. You probably can't tell by the horrible picture but this one actually has little shimmery bits in it.

So that is all I've got from the sales for myself so far. I'm sure there will be more sales as we go into spring so hopefully I'll get some more great bargains!

Instagram Update!

Hey hey!

I have a nice simple post for you today! I know not all of you follow me on instagram so I thought I would post some pictures on here every now and again!

Top Left: Jay asleep on our double bed. How tiny does he look? N'awww.

Top Middle: The sunrise before taking Keira to school. I love the colours the sky have been lately!

Top Right: Jay playing in his activity seat. He's doing so well at holding his head up now that he can actually play in some of his toys.

Middle Left: A random picture that Daryl took while messing about with my phone. I have no idea why he felt like taking loads of pictures but this one was very natural so I decided to keep it.

Middle, Middle: LUSH bath! I used my golden wonder bath bomb and loved the colour that it came out. I hope they bring it out again next year! Admittedly this one was from 2012 and I saved it to use in winter 2013, how sad right?

Middle Right: Jay in his first 3-6 month baby grow. I can't believe my little man is growing up so quickly. Stop now please!

Bottom Left: Me and Jay on Christmas day. He was dressed in his Santa onesie and I had my Christmas jumper on. So cute!

Bottom Middle: My new GHD Pink Diamond Styler! These were my main Christmas present from Daryl and I'm so happy with them!

Bottom Right: On Christmas Eve we decorated ginger bread men with Keira until The Snowman and the Snow Dog came on. She was so excited about Christmas this year we had to keep her distracted otherwise she would have been bouncing off the walls!

I hope you like this laid back post! Let me know if you have anything similar I'd love to check it out! Tweet the link to me @bethanymay_xx

Until next time my lovelies!

Weight Loss Wednesday!

Hey ladies!

I have a new type of post for you today! Weight loss Wednesday. This won't be every week but I thought it would be good to keep track of my progress and write down what has and hasn't worked to lose weight and tone up.

Image from Pinterest

I will be honest and say my diet hasn't really changed too much, don't worry it's part of my healthy life plan! Rather than just jumping in with both feet and failing after a short amount of time I've decided to break it down into steps to make it a total success and life change.
So at the moment I am in stage one which is portion control. When eaten I have dramatically cut the size of my meals. Rather than having a dinner plate size serving of dinner I've been using smaller plates. I must admit it seems to be working. So far I've lost 3lb. I think the satisfaction of finishing your plate makes you feel full, so the smaller plate doesn't seem to be leaving me hungry but just as satisfied with a lot less calories!
In between meals I keep snacks to a minimum and cut out as much crap as possible. I still have the odd bag of crisps to satisfy my craving for junk but normally stick to a bag between 100-130 or less calories. Quavers are normally my top choice as they only have 88 calories.
I've cut out the fizzy drinks now. I rotate between water and flavoured water. I can't seem to get enough of tesco's strawberry flavoured water, at only 49p for a litre I can't really complain. Until it runs out.
I found a couple of picture on Pinterest that I thought were good reminders and hints. 'If you eat what you've always eaten, you'll weigh what you've always weighed' is a good saying for me. My diet is definitely not up to scratch but I do plan on tackling that at another stage of my weight loss journey.

I also found the helpful tips in the picture below. I thought they would be good to look at from time to time.

So that is my progress so far. I'll write my stats below so we can see progress made.

Starting weight: 11st 13lb
Current weight: 11st 10lb
Total loss: 3lb
Weight goal: 10st

Have you started a weight loss journal? I would love to read if you have! Tweet me your links @bethanymay_xx so I can check them out!

Until next time my lovelies!

January Wishlist 2014

Hello ladies.

Today is my January Wishlist! It isn't a very big list as we have just had Christmas and I got basically everything I wanted. So these are just a few things that I've been looking at for a little while!

1.Gel Nail Varnish- Having two kiddies means a lot of bath, washing up and cleaning. Also meaning that my nail varnish doesn't stand a chance of lasting more than maybe a few hours! So I've been looking into trying Gel Nail Varnish to see if it will last longer than normal nail varnish would. When I get my hands on some I will do a review for you.

2. The Falsies Mascara- This mascara has been raved about by everyone that has talked/written about it. I find with my lashes that even with mascara on they seem non existent. So I'm hoping if I give this little gem a whirl that it will help boost my eye make up and give me the lash look that I want! Fingers crossed!

3. Wedge boots- I've been craving a new pair of boots for a while now but with a little baby high heels are not an option. So when I saw these little wedge boots on shoezone.com I fell in love instantly. Plus I think the faux fur trim gives it that little bit of a boost from plain jane to chic.

4. Dress- I saw this dress while going through the ASDA George website and fell in love with it. I love the bright colour and the necklace. I'm really getting into wearing skater dresses at the moment and would love this one in my collection! It would look good on its own or with a nice chunky cardigan over the top for winter.

So those are my little picks for January. Have you written any wish list out? If you have feel free to tweet me your link to @bethanymay_xx I would love to give it a read! I'm also looking for some new blogs to follow on bloglovin so send me your links if you want me to check your blog out!

Until next time my lovelies!

New Years Resolutions

Hey ladies!

Over the past year I've become quite lazy in my day to day life. Being pregnant and having a newborn certainly took a toll on my energy levels and made me a bit of a lazy butt really. So I'm setting myself some New Years resolutions to help get me back on track. Obviously things aren't going to happen instantly but as long as it happens thats all that matters!

Number 1. I would love to cook more! Easy meals have been a life saver for me over the past year. Anything with no prep time is a win for me. Chicken nuggets, chips, pasta, frozen pizzas, takeaways, anything that you just whack into the oven was how I did my cooking. However this year I would love to learn how to make lovely home made meals with fresh rather than frozen ingredients. Although it won't be possible everyday I would like to give it a good go!

Number 2. The 'Mummy Tummy'. After having two kiddies the weight has come one to me like white on rice. With having a newborn and doing quick, easy meals I've not exactly made it easy for myself. Although since having Jay I have lost a couple of pounds it would be great if I could get to my 'pre-baby weight'. Also the jelly belly would need to go too. I hate the way my belly wobbles at the moment, a lot of people say 'you just had a baby, don't be silly', but I've had weight issues and body issues most of my life and can't help but want to look better.

Number 3- Trying to keep up with blogging. I didn't do very well with blogging last year as a lot happened. However things this year should settle down so why not blog a bit more? I love doing it, however finding the time to do it is another issue. I won't be making a schedule for what days I post as Jay is not yet in a routine so will not be able to promise anything but I will certainly do my best! I've already managed to write and schedule three posts today so fingers crossed it all works out!

Number 4- This one is definitely a matter of what money I have spare. I would love to get my driving license at some time during this year. My partner is currently taking lessons so hopefully he will be driving soon and will make our lives a little bit easier. If I could get mine as well by next Christmas then it would be ideal.

Do you have any New Years Resolutions? If you have written a post or just want to tell me some Tweet me @bethanymay_xx I'd love to know!

Until next time my lovelies!
